I think I found out what is so utterly dissatisfying about those other platforms...they don't track views. I know it was some dumb mental health initiative by the legal departments, designed to stop teenage girls posting titty pics and crying for hours they only got 2 likes, but THAT was the key...the likes portion....not how many people had seen your content. Now they ALL stopped tracking traffic but left the external approval mechanisms in place. For someone like me who uses traffic to judge a platforms worth/effort versus return, views are vital. Now I don't see much point it posting to somewhere only a shade higher than keeping it on my local storage.

Basically #threads just confessed "If you say anything in favour of trump in the election, we will amplify you around the world twice before you hit send...but if it's against him or in favour of Biden...you will be punished and have your reach limited". #politics
